Responsibilities of the Clerk
The Mayor, with Common Council approval, appoints the City Clerk. The Clerk administers the office and is responsible for:
- Council Agendas
- Minutes and record keeping services for the Common Council

- Elections and Voter Registration
- Assessment Board of Review
- Licensing of over 40 City and State licenses
- Liaison to Public, Education
- Government Access (PEGA) cable television production and regulation
- Maintain a reference library and perform research

- Legislative drafting for the Council and other departments
- Maintain web pages for the Council, Clerk and Election functions
- Provides Notary Service free of charge

The Clerk’s Office provides quality services to the Mayor, Common Council, staff, and the public in an efficient and responsive manner to create the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
