Demolition, remodeling, or building materials are NOT accepted at the landfill.

Appliances

Appliances are NOT accepted at the landfill.

Oil

Used waste oil, oil filters, absorbents, and containers are banned from landfills per Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter 287.07(4m). The Moccasin Mike Landfill no longer accepts used oil. Please check your local auto shop or oil service station, or contact the landfill for a list of free oil drop-off locations in Superior. Plastic containers used to collect used oil should be rinsed and recycled or reused.

Recyclables

Recyclable materials banned from landfills include plastics, cardboard, paper, magazines, office paper, bimetal, and aluminum.

Hazardous Waste

For disposal of hazardous waste, contact the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) at 218-722-3336 for information on disposal. City of Superior residents can use the household hazardous waste facility at no cost.

Special Handling Materials (includes ash, sludge, grit)

Cost per ton of special handling material disposal to be determined by the Public Works Director.
