Anonymous Tip Services

In response to the ever increasing technological environment we live in, the Superior Police Department has initiated three services for use by the public through a contract with Citizen Observer. They are:

Tip411: Anonymous Tip Reporting Via Text Messaging

User types “spdtip” plus their tip on their cell phone or mobile device and texts it to “847411” (TIP411). The text message is encrypted and an alias is generated, masking the identity of the sender from the police. The police have no way of determining the user’s identity.

The sender is then able to converse (anonymously) with the police department regarding their tip and any additional information they may be able to provide at police request.

New Anonymous Web Tip Link

Citizens click on the "anonymous web tips" link below and fill in a form and submit the tip via the Internet. The tip goes through a secure server where again, the identity of the sender is masked from the police.

Police Department Text/e-mail Alert Program

Citizens can sign up to receive alerts from the Police Department via e-mail and/or text messaging. The alerts that will be sent will focus on matters of safety to the citizens of Superior, and may include such things as requesting help with information on critical events (e.g. robberies, violent assaults, Amber Alerts, etc). Citizens interested in receiving these alerts can click on the link below and complete the online form to begin receiving the alerts. Standard text messaging rates may apply and users should consult with their cellular phone provider concerning text messaging rates.

To sign up to receive alerts from the Police Department go to the Superior Police Department Citizen Observer page. Once on the Citizen Observer page click the "Sign up for alerts" link.
