If you need immediate assistance on an animal issue please call 911.
If you need to speak with the Humane Officer, please call 715-395-7280.
If you have lost or found an animal contact the Douglas County Humane Society at 715-398-6784 or dial 911 after hours.
Animal control is responsible for domestic animals. For rodent/pests animals, contact a pest control company.
All animals are required to be kept under restraint at all times.
Dogs are required to be kept current on rabies shots.
All dogs over five months old must be licensed annually.
Maximum animal limits are 3 dogs and 3 cats per household.
Chickens are allowed in the city as long as they are not a nuisance to the neighborhood. Roosters are not allowed.
No wild animals are allowed to be kept as pets within the city limits.
Excessive animal noises must be kept to a minimum, regardless of the time of day.
You are required to pick up after your pet at all times.
Animals that are outside are required to have shelter from the elements and clean water available at all times.
